A Journey Through Texas Military History

The Texas Military Forces Museum in Austin offers a sprawling 45,000-square-foot exploration of the Lone Star State's military heritage. From the Texas Revolution to modern conflicts, the museum chronicles the bravery and service of Texas units, including the famed 36th Infantry Division and Hood's Texas Brigade.

Immersive Exhibits and Rare Artifacts

Step into history with eight massive dioramas and sixteen detailed environments that bring pivotal battles to life. The museum boasts an impressive collection of uniforms, letters, personal items, and military equipment from various eras. Visitors can also get hands-on with an F-16 cockpit and a field kitchen.

Outdoor Armor and Artillery Park

Outside, the expansive Armor Row and Artillery Park presents a unique opportunity to get up close with over 36 camouflaged tanks, artillery pieces, and heavy vehicles.

Enter Camp Mabry via Maintenance Drive off West 35th Street.

Know Before You Go

A valid photo ID is required for all adults to enter Camp Mabry. Be mindful of active military vehicles on post. Weekend visits may require pre-scheduling for those without military IDs.
