The Eureka Room

A 100-square-foot immersive room of absurd, sensory-driven games for strangers.

The Experience

Whimsical, silly, social, absurd

A World of Absurdist Play

The Eureka Room is a unique, 100-square-foot immersive experience in Austin designed to connect people through playful absurdity. Created by IRL experience designer Mike Michaels, this cozy, light-filled space is packed with homemade installations that engage the senses with lights, sounds, and video-led games.

Interactive Fun for All

Designed for groups of 6-8, the experience encourages strangers and friends alike to interact through a series of short, high-energy activities. Participants engage in playful prompts, high-fiving, and two-handed table games, fostering laughter, collaboration, and a sense of shared silliness. The goal is to spark joy and connection in a low-key yet high-energy environment, leaving visitors feeling like kids again.

The Austin Vibe Embodied

Often described as "indescribable" and "wholly unique," The Eureka Room perfectly captures Austin's offbeat spirit. It's a place where obsession with fun trumps optimization, offering a memorable escape that's as creative as it is delightfully confusing. The less you know beforehand, the more surprising and enjoyable the experience becomes.

Know Before You Go

The less you know, the better the surprise! It's a standing experience with some physical movement, and while a chair can be provided, it's not ideal for those with significant mobility issues or visual impairments. Flashing lights are present, though the rainbow effect is eliminated.
