Its soaring six-story atrium bathes over 80% of its spaces in natural light, creating a dreamlike atmosphere that also significantly reduces energy consumption. This meticulous daylighting strategy, employing special skylights and reflective surfaces, ensures a bright and inspiring environment for all visitors.

More Than Just Books

Beyond its impressive architecture, the library is a vibrant community hub. It boasts an Innovation Lab, a unique public creative studio equipped with 3D printers and laser cutters, fostering hands-on learning and creation. The rooftop features a butterfly garden offering panoramic views of downtown Austin and nearby waterways, complemented by outdoor reading porches.

A Whimsical Touch

Adding a playful element to the grand interior is "CAW," a striking 37-foot-tall bright red cuckoo clock by artist Christian Moeller.
